Recently I had the pleasure of participating in a team challenge organised by Timothy Dries and the talented people at Beyond Extent. In a team of five fellow environment artists, I had the opportunity to test my skills in action. Over the span of a tightly scheduled five weeks, we created a stunning scene of an adventurer's attic full of treasure, taking it from the initial idea, through concept and preproduction all the way to a polished environment.
My individual contributions include working on the wood architecture, including the beams for the attic structure, as well as the side walls, windows, and wood plank floor. I also contributed to the props in ways of the barrels, suitcases, lanterns, globe, ship wheel, chalices, and astrolabes. I also contributed to the blueprint splines to create the cables and chains around the scene. Additionally, we all worked together to produce the lighting and post process for the final product, and consider this a full group effort.
It has been an incredible experience to work with new people from around Europe and produce a scene that I am very proud of.
