A blueprint billboard I made to flick through different advertisements
A flickering light for the fire escape
Spinning logos for the vending machine area
A bamboo water feature I made to simulate water filling up the bamboo and then pouring out
Smoke for the vents around the level
Heat distortion using a normal map and refraction for the pipes
Module 4 at Escape Studios involved a group project to be carried out over 12 weeks. The brief was to create a playable environment based on Akira, and Ghost in the Shell. We also took inspiration from Stray and the concept of retro-futurism.
--------------
We had 11 people within our group and so had to try assign out roles to keep the project moving smoothly. I was lead technical artist for this project, however, I also assisted with the modular assets for the shops, walls for the surrounding area between modular assets, prop making, and set dressing.
---------
This group project has been an incredible opportunity to work within a team and stick to a tight time constraint. Everyone has worked amazingly and we have produced a final product that I am extremely proud of, and am excited to share on my portfolio.
----------
For this project the items I contributed to are:
Splines for cables, pipes, and lanterns
Spinning logos for Vending Machines
Flickering lights
Wall vertex painting, and set up of the walls between modular pieces
Laundromat concept and modular pieces, and texturing
Barber shop concept and modular pieces, and texturing
Set dressing
Prop making and texturing
Decals - damage, and hopscotch
VFX - specifically Smoke, Music Notes, Dripping water, Heat distortion, and fog
